Robotics Leagues at Valley Christian Schools

Valley Christian Schools proudly participates in two premier robotics programs under the FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) organization: the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) and the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). These leagues offer students immersive STEM experiences, fostering innovation, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence.

FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC)

Grades: 7–12
Team Size: Up to 15 students
Team Numbers: Team 2844 – Valley X Robotics, Team 12841 – Plus +3 Robotics

FTC is a mid-level robotics competition where teams design, build, and program robots to compete in head-to-head challenges on a 12′ x 12′ field. Each season introduces a new game, requiring strategic planning and innovative problem-solving. Guided by adult mentors, students develop skills in engineering, programming, and project management, all while emphasizing gracious professionalism and community outreach.

At Valley Christian Schools, our FTC teams have a rich history of success, demonstrating technical prowess and a commitment to our mission of equipping students to be culture changers for Christ.

FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC)

Grades: 9–12
Team Size: 25+ students
Team Number: Team 8848 – BLU CRU

FRC represents the highest level of high school robotics competition. Teams are challenged to build industrial-sized robots to play a complex field game in alliance with other teams. The competition emphasizes not only technical skills but also business planning, fundraising, and community engagement.

Our FRC team, BLU CRU, embodies the spirit of innovation and collaboration. Through participation in FRC, students gain real-world experience in engineering and leadership, preparing them for future academic and career endeavors.

Through involvement in FTC and FRC, Valley Christian Schools provides students with unparalleled opportunities to explore STEM fields, develop essential life skills, and live out our mission in tangible ways.
